4. Federation of Astronomical Societies (FAS)
Subsequent to the work done by Dick Phillips, and the proposals approved at the AGM on 12 March 2011, the Society is now a member of the FAS, incorporation of Bath Astronomers and the Herschel Group was agreed at the recent AGM. Mr Phillips expressed the view that the Society will be stronger and will have access to facilities such as lists of speakers. In particular, the worry about Public Liability Insurance for public events is solved. We can also advertise on the FAS web site.
